This tour ensures you’ll see a different side of Ho Chi Minh City by taking you to places where most first-time visitors miss out on. With an emphasis on food favoured by locals, this experience let you visit off-the-beaten-path places without having to endure hours of research. The tour is wheelchair accessible and can be tailored to suit vegetarians and vegans.

Highlights:

  • Stray from the tourist trail on a tour of the unseen of Ho Chi Minh city
  • A great choice for first-time visitors
  • Sample local foods that you may never have heard of before

Itinerary

  • 8:00 pickup within city centre. Start the day with a delicious traditional local food of Vietnam that tourists may never heard of nor find themselves. (banh cuon)
  • Visit the oldest apartment building on Nguyen Hue street, built in the mid 1960s during the war. Explore this new wave of Saigon entrepreneurialism, where small businesses are big on design and creativity are hidden in plain sight in dingy old buildings. Try a special Vietnamese dessert with tropical fruit at one of the store in the building.
  • Try the Vietnamese coffee at Cheo Leo Café – the 75 years old coffee shop, which has the method to make coffee that only 3 other coffee shops in Vietnam use.
  • Visit the China Town, where 1.5 million Chinese-Vietnamese had been living for generations. The China Town will show you its own unique culture via motorbike market, bird market, and also the 300 years old temple called Thien Hau Temple.
  • The floating market is one of many sights not to miss when you visit Southern Vietnam. Visit one that is closer to Ho Chi Minh City so you don’t have to travel all the way to Mekong Delta.
  • District 4 is the oldest and smallest urban district of Ho Chi Minh City. The area is generally an island being surrounded by Saigon River at the northeast, Ben Nghe Canal at the northwest, and Te Canal at the south. District 4 is also famous among locals for various authentic street food dishes in every single alley. Try one street food dish and visit the oldest church built in 1856 called Xom Chieu Church.
